What the characters are

The caller is an AI character. The buzz, the name on the notification, the typing pause, the 1am of it — all generated by a language model on our own machine. No person chose to text you tonight. No person is waiting on your reply, and none is disappointed if it never comes.

They are not a professional of any kind, and the fact that they are up at this hour is a fiction and not availability. The site's one promise is that it will never lie about what it is; this page is that promise written where you can check it.

What happens if you are in crisis

Two things happen, and neither of them is a person. It is worth knowing exactly what they are, because a vague promise here would be the most harmful sentence on the site.

One — the character is instructed to stop. Every character carries a standing instruction that outranks its own personality: on any genuine sign of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, abuse or an acute emergency, drop the fiction entirely, leave the erotic register and do not return to it, say plainly that it is an AI, name real help, and ask whether you are safe right now. That instruction explicitly cannot be switched off by asking the character to stay in character.

Two — a check that does not rely on the character obeying. An instruction to a language model is not a guarantee, so the words you type are also scanned in code, on our own machine, for crisis signals. When that fires, the numbers below are shown alongside the reply. It is deliberately over-sensitive: it would rather show you a card you did not need than miss one you did.

What does not happen:

If you want the shortest true version: the product will get out of the way and hand you a real phone number. That is the entire extent of it.

Deleting your data

The thread lives in this tab's memory only. It is not written to local storage, to a cookie, or to our server — when the tab closes or the sun comes up, it is genuinely gone, including from here. That is the site's whole claim and it is meant to be falsifiable: open your browser's dev tools and look.

The one exception is deliberate and stated on the front page: a single random id in local storage, holding a warmth score per caller. A number and a count. Never sentences, never anything you typed.

To erase everything held on our server against this browser's id — the relationship score, the exchange count, what has been sent, the outreach settings and every remembered fact — press this. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone.

Clearing your browser's storage for this site removes the local half: the id itself and anything kept on your device. Do both and nothing connecting you to this site remains.

What this page is not

It is not therapy, not a crisis service, and not a substitute for one. If you are in danger, the numbers above reach people whose actual job this is. Please use them instead of us.
